TASC 2
In October 2003, Meridian became part of the team that was
awarded the five-year
Technical Assistance and Support
Contract 2 (TASC 2) by the
United States Agency for
International Development (USAID) to support population,
health, and nutrition activities worldwide.
The project focuses on a wide range of
health areas, including maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS,
infectious diseases, environmental health, reproductive health
and family planning, and nutrition.
Meridian's primary role is to provide expertise in the
areas of social
marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and
public-private partnerships. Other areas of involvement
include birth spacing, family planning, health behavior change
communications, HIV/AIDS prevention, reproductive health and
male involvement.
Meridian's partners include Research
Triangle Institute (Prime),
Carolina Population Center (CPC)
at UNC-Chapel Hill, Counterpart International,
EngenderHealth,
FHI Institute for HIV/AIDS,
International Center for Research
on Women (ICRW), Program of Appropriate Technology in Health
(PATH), and Save the Children Federation, Inc. (STC).
