Emergency Contraception
Meridian is one of the founding members of the
International Consortium for Emergency Contraception (ICEC)
and has played an active role in supporting Emergency
Contraceptive programs throughout the developing world.
Meridian has been especially active in working to assure
access to dedicated Emergency Contraceptive pills in
developing countries and designing and promoting communication
materials as well as easy to read package inserts for
consumers in French and
Spanish.
In 2003, Meridian became the host
organization for ICEC, and serves as the sponsor for ICEC
activities, including newsletters, policy statements,
and consortia building within regions. Meridian has received
funding from the
Compton Foundation
and the
Wallace Foundation
to support leadership activities for the ICEC. |
